January 9, 2016 Texian Heritage Festival Check Presentation to Nonprofit Beneficiaries
Texian Heritage Festival vice president Bea Rouse welcomes City of Montgomery Administrator Jack Yates, along with representatives of five nonprofit organizations that were the beneficiaries of the 2015 Festival.
Present for the check presentation were Michael Hayles, Coat of Many Colors Ministries; Wayne Keller, Caiden’s Hope; Allison Hewlitt, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County; Mike Newman and Larry Daspit, Fernland Historical Park; and Billy Ray Duncan, Montgomery Historical Society.
Rouse also recognized the 2015 Festival sponsors: Montgomery Economic Development Corporation; Greensheet; Ranch 115 of Hempstead; Wiesner Auto, WordSpresso, Taylorized PR; law firm of Griffin & Cain; Rotary Club of Lake Conroe; Storage 105; Red Onion Catering; and Montgomery County Historical Commission.
Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (Formerly The Friendship Center) provides nutrition and transportation services to address the public health issues of our senior adults to that they may remain independent and vital members of our community.
Caiden’s Hope provides support to parents of a child born prematurely while the baby is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a medical facility. Parents are offered assistance with lodging, gas cards, and food to allow the parents to remain close to the hospital during the crisis.
